SIMEON MCROY - Vocalist, Keyboards, Songwriter, Music Arrangements, Drums. Performer. SIMEON was born in Knoxville Tenn. where he bagan his journey in music. He started out learning how to play the drums. Growing up his mother was an evangelist, now a Pastor, use to MC her mothers music events in a small town, Kingsland, Georgia. His familily was musically talented and as a little boy he would always sit by the drums.. Growing up he also took interest in the piano. While he was in middle school, he had the chance to play the piano for the first time in front of one of the greatest jazz pianists of the time and also in front of his classmates. The jazz musician was blown away by what he heard and decided to take him under his wing. At the age of 13 SIMEON McROY got a taste of the spotlight by being asked to come on stage and do a little solo with the pianist. Later, SIMEON started learning how to create music. At 18 SIMEON joined a quartet group called the NEW TRAVELERS. The band consisted of eleven members and they traveled and performed around the states. He would then go on to join another group, GRACE N MOTION. He produced his frist track at age 19 called HE WILL..
Later on SIMEON left Knoxville, Tennessee and wend to Kingsland , Georgia, where at an event he met a man that changed his life. He met Reginald Dantzler in 2000. SIMEON then had the opportunity to work and perform with artists like CHARLIE WILSON, FANTASIA and many more. Reginald contact SIMEON about putting a house band together. Once the band got its first gig the realization was there. This was a house band no more. THE SPECIAL FORMULA BAND had been born.
SIMEON McROY is Vocalist, Songwriter, Musician and Producer for the HOTTEST, BADDEST Band In The Land...THE SPECIAL FORMULA BAND. out of Jacksonville, Florida.He has been with the band for over 13 years and they have traveled throughout the United States.
From then came the CD...THE ELEMENTS OF MUSIC. SIMEON created and produced the music for RIDE AH DIE GIRL, PROPOSAL, JAXSOULSVILLE, BIG LEG WOMAN and TAKE THE PAIN AWAY.
SIMEON'S roll models in the music industry are producer and singers, BABY FACE, TEDDY RILEY and of course THE KING OF POP....MICHAEL JACKSON.
SIMEON has performed with other artists as well. As a Keyboard Player he accompanied CAPTAIN MARK WOODS of the hottest band LAKESIDE as well as recording artist MILES JAY.
SIMEON MCROY IS ON THE RISE WITH THE BADDEST, HOTTEST BAND.
..THE SPECIAL FORMULA BAND. He continues to also shoot for the stars as he is currently working on a GOSPEL CD which should be released in the near future.
