JOE LEONARD came up in the church playing Bass, Drums and filled in on the organ. His father taught him to play the Bass Guitar when he was only 4 years old.  52 years later what fun it has been.  JOE plays multiple instruments including Bass, Keyboards, Guitar, Drums and Sax. 

 They later moved to Detroit, MI where he would have many opportunities to be around and on stage with many of the Motown gang , KICKER WOMAK, BEN BABER, RONNIE SANDELIN, JIMMY STERLING, NORMA JEAN BELL, SHEILDS OF FAITH, ROOSEVELT GRIFFIN and a host of others whose talents exceeded anything I had. 

 His influences included MARK MAY, PAUL RAMIREZ, KIRK McKIM, MATT JOHNSON, JOSH SMITH, ERIC STECKLE and a lot more.

 Now playing multiple instruments and with so much music in his head, he also learned the recording programs so he would be able to start recording his hit songs. 

 Formed the band JOE LEONARD AND THE SOUHERN SOUL BAND ( Formerly THE BLUES DUDES for a couple of years).

 JLSSB released the 1st CD  "ON THE WAY UP"  and the 2nd " MYSTERY LADY "

Performed in recent concerts with KENNE WAYNE, JIMMY STERLING, BILLY "SOUL" BONDS, THE SUPERIOR BAND and LADY AUDREY, GEORGI "O" GREEN, NELLIE TIGER TRAVIS and BIG POKEY .
